About Just Legal
Just Legal is a specialist Legal recruitment agency established in Melbourne in 1987.

We are ex-employees from Legal firms and know what it is like to work in that environment. We can offer years of experience and knowledge to enable your search for the right job to be a rewarding and satisfying event.

Registration Process
To register an interest in obtaining a position with the legal environment is undertaken by firstly submitting your Resume. On receipt of your Resume we will contact you to come into office for an interview. During the interview process you will be tested on the applicable equipment you have experience in and a personal chat will follow where we will ascertain what type of job you are looking for.

JL Job Interview Process
After you have registered with Just Legal we will inform you of suitable positions available to you. Our role is to forward your details to our client for jobs suitable to your skills, knowledge and level. Our client will either choose to interview you or not.

If we obtain an interview on your behalf we will give you:
  • either a verbal or written job specification of the position vacant
  • background information regarding the firm, eg. the size and number of employees, areas of expertise
Once you have been interviewed by our client, the client will contact us regarding your application. The outcome of the interview will be informed to you — successful or unsuccessful or requiring another interview.

Our Client Base
Our clients are firms of Solicitors located in the Melbourne CBD and Suburbs.

We also deal with Australian and Victorian Government Legal Offices including the Law Institute of Victoria.

For those who wish to be involved in the legal environment and have a 'corporate' image we also have association with a number of Corporate Legal Departments.

JL Job Seeker's Requirements
As specialists in the Legal Profession we seek candidates for positions with Solicitor's Firms, associated Government Legal Departments and Corporate Legal Departments. The jobs are varied and at different levels.

Legal Secretary / Word Processor Operator - Senior Level
  • Experienced in any area of law
  • Experienced in a Legal Office as a Legal Secretary
Legal Secretary / Word Processor Operator - Mid-Level
  • Experienced in an area of law
  • Experienced in a Legal Office as a Legal Secretary
Legal Secretary / Word Processor Operator - Floater
  • Experienced in all areas of law
Entry Level
  • Possible VCE requirement
  • Able to type at approximately 35 wpm
  • Some word processing knowledge would be an advantage
  • Good presentation and speech
Law Clerk
  • Hands on experience operating the file
  • An advantage would be a member of the Legal Executives Association
Legal Accounts
  • Proven work history in a legal office's Accounts Department
