TRAINEE RECORDS OFFICER
A wonderful opportunity exists for a highly motivated person to obtain on-the-job training and gain a qualification in Certificate III Recordkeeping (includes Business units) as part of a 12 month traineeship commencing in January 2010.
The successful applicant will combine work at Council as part of the Records team and receive support to complete on-line study (3 hours per week). You will be required to fulfil all the requirements of Certificate III in Recordkeeping and Council will be responsible for all relevant course fees.
As a member of the Records Management team, you will be involved in assisting in the day-to-day activities with records by providing general administration duties such as data entry into Council's Records Management system, opening/sorting of incoming mail, assist in requests for file retrieval and return, answering ????? ????? operating a range of office equipment.
To be successful you will need to have an eye for detail and be a team player with good written and oral communication skills. An ability to plan, organise, balance both work tasks and study requirements is essential.
The weekly salary range is between $224.20 and $500.84 depending upon the applicant's age or highest completed level of schooling. Experience and qualifications in the area of the traineeship are not required. Other employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award 2007.
Applicants should note the period of the traineeship will be for one year in duration and that there is no guarantee of employment with Council after this time.

WORKS CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR - CONCRETE & BRIDGES
Council is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable person to lead a small team responsible for the delivery of Council's bridge, drainage and concrete program. The successful applicant will have sound technical and operational skills in road, drainage and bridge construction and maintenance, together with the ability to supervise and co-ordinate a work team.
The position is offered in the range of Grade 10 Entry Level $822.53 to Grade 10 Step 3 $888.34 for a thirty-eight hour week in accordance with Council's Salary Structure. An industry disability allowance of $12.00 per week also applies. Other employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award 2007.

WASTE SUPERVISOR
Council is seeking to appoint an experienced supervisor for its Waste Transfer Station and Landfill operations.
The position requires a reliable and self-motivated person who can demonstrate team leadership and exceptional customer service skills, together with a sound operational knowledge of recycling and waste management practices.
The position is offered in the range of Grade 7 Entry Level $749.11 to Grade 7 Step 3 $809.04 for a thirty-eight hour week in accordance with Council's Salary Structure. Other employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award 2007. A 50% loading applies to work performed on Saturdays and a 100% loading applies to work performed on Sundays. An industry disability allowance of $31.80 per week also applies. Council uniforms and full personal protective equipment are supplied free of charge.

TRANSFER STATION OFFICERS
Council is currently seeking reliable and self-motivated persons to undertake Transfer Station Operator duties at Council's Transfer Stations/Landfill sites located in the Yass Valley Local Government area.
Permanent Full-Time
The successful applicant will be provided with on-the-job training and the opportunity to obtain plant operation tickets at Council's expense. OH&S and other short-course training programs will also be provided.
The position is offered in the range of Grade 3 Entry Level $698.93 to Grade 3 Step 3 $754.85 for a thirty-eight hour week in accordance with Council's Salary Structure.
Permanent Part-Time - Wee Jasper Transfer Station
The successful applicant will be provided with the opportunity to obtain a WorkCover OH&S General Induction Training Certificate.
Working hours will consist of 4 hours per week 3.5 hours of these will be worked on Sundays.
The position is offered in the range of Grade 2 Entry Level $17.4492 per hour to Grade 2 Step 3 $18.8453 per hour in accordance with Council's Salary Structure.
Both Positions
A 50% loading applies to work carried out on Saturdays and a 100% loading applies to work carried out on Sundays. An industry disability allowance of $31.80 per week ($0.83 per hour) also applies. Other employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award 2007. Council uniform and personal protective equipment will be supplied.

NAMING OF COUNCIL ROAD
Notice is given under the Roads Act 1993, that it is proposed to name a rural residential street, which was created as part of Development Application 5.2008.159.1, Colonial Drive. The new street forms part of a new rural residential subdivision. The road is located off Merryville Drive on Lot 1, 2 & 4 DP (??) ???? ????.
