Illawarra Newspapers Pty. Ltd, publisher of the Illawarra Mercury and Wollongong- Shellharbour Advertiser, is seeking an experienced proactive sales professional to work as a Senior Advertising Sales Executive within our Advertising department. The role requires an individual available on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s largest newspaper organisations.

Reporting to the Advertising Sales Manager, this position will support the Sales Manager through team mentoring ????? ????? to day operational tasks. The successful applicant must have a proven ability to work within a highly driven target focused team and will manage clients advertising needs for both the daily and weekly publications. The role requires selling advertising to new clients, building existing client spend and develop meaningful business relationships in the marketplace both locally and within the metro marketplace.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• A proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets

• Strong face to face sales record with a focus on new business development

• The ability to prioritise work and meet multiple deadlines

• Excellent personal presentation skills

• Advanced skills in Microsoft offi ce including extensive experience with PowerPoint presentations

• Demonstrated skills in compiling reports including budget tracking

• Established time management skills, and the ability to work with minimum supervision

• Drivers licence and vehicle

• Previous media sales ideally within the print environment
