This organisation has a global presence that includes end to end logistics including the management of freight forwarding, warehousing and transport. With numerous operations Australia wide we are currently recruiting a site operations manager for their facility in western Sydney.  This is a new role with an organisation that rarely recruits externally and has a reputation for looking after their staff, developing high performers and providing challenging and fulfilling careers in domestic and international logistics.
 
This position will have full site and operations responsibility and will be responsible for all facets of transport management including safety, legislation, day-to-day site management, planning and scheduling, interface with rail, P&L, reporting and personnel management. The position will also interface with other areas of the business in international logistics so experience in freight forwarding or international trade and container management (intermodal) will also be utilised in this position.
 
The successful applicant will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:    
 
·         International and domestic transport experience
·         Container management and associated stakeholders
·         Excellent planning and financial skills
·         Proven people management skills and experience
·         Proven track record in safety management and legislation adherence
·         Experience dealing with major accounts
·         Appreciation of business strategy and ability to translate to floor
·         Loyal character and positive work ethic
·         Highly motivated to progress career in logistics
