Located in Sydney's West, this government organisation has a requirement for engineers with 2+ years experience in detailed road design. Federal Government funding for the "Roads to Recovery" scheme has created increased demand for talented engineers to undertake detailed design on local and state road construction and maintenance projects.

In this position, you will be expected to:

• Prepare engineering road and footpath designs reflecting current “Best Practice” and to maintain acceptable environmental and engineering standards.
• Conduct or supervise major road investigations, reporting on findings and recommending appropriate course(s) of action or options to provide the community with cost effective, environmentally sensitive local road networks.
• Write tender briefs and supervise engineering and/or other consultants engaged on providing professional investigation and/or design services in road and footpath infrastructure, Management Studies and Plans as well as Environmental Impact Statements. Prepare and administer contracts with consultants to ensure that all design works have been carried out in accordance with the brief.

To be considered for this position you must have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering
• 2 years experience undertaking detailed road design using CivilCAD or MX Road
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
