Test Developer - Literacy

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is seeking to appoint a Literacy Test Developer to work in a range of projects within our Assessment and Reporting program, based in our Perth office.

In this position the focus of your role will be developing assessment tasks in the areas of literacy, humanities and generic skills assessment for students from the start of primary to middle secondary level.  As Test Developer you will meet with other team members to review and refine test items and assist in the preparation and trial testing of test items in schools.

To apply, you will ideally have a teaching qualification and relevant teaching experience.  A higher degree in education or a subject discipline would be an advantage.  A strong interest in education and assessment is essential, together with the ability to write creatively, logically and clearly, and to work to deadlines.

This is a full time appointment for an initial term of 12 months.  Salary is within the range of $68 891 - $ 87 491 plus superannuation.  The position will commence in January 2010.
