Process Engineer
Great Ocean Ingredients (GOI), a joint venture company between Warrnambool Cheese and Butter and Dutch dairy company FrieslandCampina Domo, officially opened it’s plant in May in Allansford, Victoria. With a production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes, the plant helps to meet the growing demand for the prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS). Only the second factory of it’s kind in the world, raw materials from WCB (whose factory is situated alongside the GOI plant) are processed into nutritional and functional ingredients.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this replacement role is responsible for supporting the GOI Plant Manager and Production Supervisor via trouble shooting, problem and trend analysis and process improvement at the GOS plant.
Fundamental to your success in this role will be your ability to develop a big picture understanding of the GOS manufacturing ????? ????? its operation and automation. This will be crucial for analysing and resolving processing problems in a structured manner. Consultation with the Netherlands-based Domo Global Solutions will be required from time-to-time to assist with this requirement.
Key accountabilities will include, but not be limited to:
· Supporting GOI staff with trouble shooting, including second line trouble shooting and more complicated issues as required
· Monitoring ????? ????? performance parameters of the plant including chemical consumption, performance of the unit operations, and general plant operations
· Identifying ‘process bottlenecks’ and developing improvements to maximise productivity and yield, and minimise operational costs
Developing effective communications and working relationships with GOI staff is essential, as is a sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and it’s application within the workplace.
Tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering ????? ????? related field would be highly regarded, however applicants with both process engineering ????? ????? backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
