The Building Surveying Team at Design & Build is currently inviting applications from candidates who are seeking a permanent role as a Building Inspector with the opportunity to be guided and mentored towards registration as a Building Surveyor. This regional council, located in south west Victoria, is renowned for its natural beauty, amazing costal views and green pastures which will provide the perfect work / life balance.
As Building Inspector you will be tasked with providing specialist advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders, ensuring all relevant Building Code, Regulations and associated legislation is adhered to.
The long-term vision for this council is to provide the successful applicant with the chance to work towards becoming the Municipal Building Surveyor over an agreed time frame.
Duties will include:
- Mentoring, developing and guiding junior / cadet building inspectors
- Assessing building permit applications
- Conducting site inspections and maintaining relevant office systems
- Ensuring close relations are maintained with the current Municipal Building Surveyor

Requirements:
- Registration as a Building Inspector – Unlimited with the Building Practitioners Board
- Victorian drivers license
