Assistant Outdoor Educator
We are seeking applications from teacher qualified outdoor educators for a position of approximately FTE 0.8+ on a one-year contract in an ongoing position, involving approximately 108 days in the bush over four terms. The position would involve working with children from primary school through to class eleven. Payment would be as per award according to qualification. An interest in Steiner education would be desirable.
We are seeking someone with a deep love of Nature and of children, who is passionate about providing careful, thoughtful, place oriented outdoor experiences. Ours is an extensive, place-oriented program, provided to children as a cohesive sequence of trips from class three through to class eleven. We utilise a wide variety of activities (including bushwalking, canoeing, surfing, rockclimbing and cycling) to engage with a wide variety of different environments through an entirely mobile program.
The successful applicant will work as part of a close team with three other outdoor educators, providing experiences of between three and eighteen days duration, conducted in remote areas throughout the school year.
Where: Outer Eastern Melbourne based school with trips throughout Victoria and Southern New South Wales
Workload: Part Time 0.8+ FTE (approximately 108 days throughout four terms)
