Maintenance Strategy & Planning Manager

  • Daracon Group has an enviable record of achievement in large-scale civil projects as well as property developments, quarry operations and mining services. With over 600 pieces of plant including earthmoving & quarrying equipment, light vehicles, a significant transport fleet and other specialist equipment, we are currently restructuring ????? ????? department which has created this role.

    In this role, you will be responsible for:

    • The establishment of a whole of life maintenance strategy for optimum utilisation of the assets 
    • ensuring ????? ????? maintenance tasks follow that strategy and make maximum and efficient use of planned down events and labour and parts resource 
    • Communicate and co-ordinate maintenance plans with the relevant operations group/s and site/s. 
    • Work in close liaison and harmony with the Plant Allocation and Project Operations groups.
    • Establishing maintenance budgets and forecasts and cost management in line with the same - including purchase orders, productivity and suppliers
    • Monitor equipment application severity and operating conditions to pro-actively modify maintenance strategy and plans
    • Efficient use of the FMMS maintenance system ensuring ????? ????? input and effective and timely production and use of reports
    • Process map and document maintenance strategy, planning and administration processes
    • Oversee compliance in use of process and continuous improvement of the same
    • Ensure that OH&S and Environmental Statutory and Company policies and procedures are complied with.
    • Develop a highly motivated and competent business team through training and mentoring.
    • Measure and monitor performance objectives to achieve business gains.
    • Fleet cost improvements
    • Optimise fleet reliability and availability
    • Continuous Improvement Initiatives and Culture
    • Develop & implement preventative and predictive maintenance plan
    • Complete contract maintenance plans for fleet
    • Provide advice & recommendations for fleet specification via the strategy
    • Conduct periodic inspections of fleet assets so as to ensure that company standards are met
    • Report to the Maintenance Manager on activities and performance of the Fleets
    • Ensure that necessary resources are gathered and well utilised in order to implement business plans
    • Management of external maintenance providers and key supplier relationships
    To be successful in this role, you will possess:
    • A mechanical trade certificate
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Fleet Management role with proven history of managing diverse fleets and multiple maintenance teams across multiple locations
    • Intermediate computer skills
    • Experience with Caterpillar & Komatsu heavy equipment, Volvo, Kenworth and Mercedes Benz Trucks and Pegson, Nordberg and Jaques Quarry Equipment.
    • A solid understanding of fleet operations and preventative maintenance management
    • Excellent communication and people management skills
    • The ability to work effectively under pressure
    • Self motivation
    • The ability to work as part of a team and ensure the teams under your leadership maintain strong teamwork
    • The ability to verbally communicate with external parties as well as site and office personnel to enhance the operations of the Company. 
    • Tertiary qualifications in maintenance management and business studies would be advantageous
