The Faculty of Science has more than 7500 students and over 400 staff dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge. It delivers flexible and innovative teaching programs designed to produce job-ready graduates for a diverse range of professions. As a leader in strategic and applied research the Faculty aims to enhance and extend scientific knowledge, train and educate future researchers.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is located on five campuses in NSW and offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The School has a well established reputation in providing high quality education programs, both on-campus (internal) and off-campus (distance education & overseas), which will equip graduates to function effectively in Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, and Indigenous Mental Health employment. Academic staff have significant expertise in teaching and research related to primary health care, chronic health conditions, midwifery and mental health nursing.
The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the Head of School, Course Managers and Subject Coordinators and will (depending on level of appointment); participate in curriculum development accreditation, implementation and review; support and teach undergraduate students on campus and by distance education contribute to the student’s clinical program; and contribute to postgraduate education. Additionally, the incumbent will liaise with the rural nursing community and contribute to the Faculty and School’s governance and research endeavours and provide academic leadership in the School. We are seeking academics who have a teaching and research focus in a range of specialities including mental health nursing, primary health care, gerontic nursing and chronic illness. Senior lecturers would be expected to contribute to supervision of research students and to increasing the research profile of the school. The Level of appointment will be dependent on knowledge and experience.
