The skills we look for in our Maths teachers include:

Enthusiasm to promote learning • Innovative and resourceful teaching methods

The school is based in Kent, an hour by ferry to France, 2 hours by Eurostar to Paris, 20 minutes by train to London and 30 minutes drive to London. Living in Kent is an inexpensive and accessible way to see London and the United Kingdom. The school is staffed by many young and enthusiastic teachers and support staff who are helpful and supportive of new staff. Many Australian teachers have come to work at Thamesview on a short term contract and then stayed for many years.
Thamesview is at an exciting time in its development: we have just produced the best GCSE results at 67% A*-C, which have increased year on year for the last six years, we acquired our Business & Enterprise status, and have a £1.2 million Vocational Centre on site which opened in 2006. We are in the current wave of Building Schools for the Future (BSF), so our newly designed school will open in July 2010. E-learning is an exciting area of development for us, as we will have over £1m spent on future technology ICT throughout our new school. All teachers already have a laptop, classrooms equipped with SMART whiteboards and we have a generous staff development (CPD) commitment. We actively encourage leadership and progression opportunities for staff. With all these initiatives we are entering ????? ????? era of teaching and learning and are a really motivated school.
After 4 years of innovative improvement, Thamesview has now been awarded ‘Good’ (2)by Ofsted (in February 2009) for our ‘Overall Effectiveness’.
