Structural Engineer (Core Team)

Our client, an international multi disciplined consulting group, who provide design and project management services across the building and construction, civil engineering ????? ????? sectors seeks a Structural Engineer for their Core Team on their major projects in Abu Dhabi.

Reporting to the Assistant Technical Services Manager, Abu Dhabi (who reports to the Technical Services Manager in Doha), this role sits within a newly established Core Head Office Team being established in Abu Dhabi. The Technical Services Team is a core team of multi disciplined professionals who are an internal reference body (on a global scale) that measure and qualify services and products proposed to clients against consistency and excellent benchmarks. The Technical Services Team is focussed on project management / construction management disciplines with operations geographically covering ????? ?????, the Middle East, Egypt, China and India.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing, approving and monitoring ????? ????? engineering ????? ????? various phases of construction for design intent and buildability, quality assurance and use of materials with project specification and conformance;

Coordinating with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies as necessary in meetings, drawings and other forms of communication;

Reviewing contractor’s correspondence related to structural engineering ????? ????? RFI’s, change order proposals, etc.

The key attributes of the role include:

A degree in Engineering (Structural) Architecture and professional membership in (ASCE, I.Struct.E, ICE);

15 years experience in structural engineering ????? ????? construction capacity on major building projects valued in excess of USD200M;

Design and supervision experience to include: cast in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, post tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel;

Project experience to include low rise commercial, high rise residential and office as well as feature iconic buildings;

Design and supervision of deep and shallow foundations, retaining walls, structural lateral systems, including slabs, beams and columns and all types of suspended structures in various materials;

Must be able to assess the quality and integrity of construction design from a buildability and value engineering ????? ?????;

Candidates with contracting on site experience will be highly regarded. Although the role is office based, time will also be spent on site.
