The role…
As a my[place] consultant, you will be responsible for technical advice and assistance to Telstra customers on our whole range of mobile, internet and home phone products.
Your role will be to tutor customers on the use of their products. This could involve anything from setting up email on a handset, or setting up their Big Pond internet at home or showing a customer how to send MMS to helping out with any technical question any of our customers may have .
You will need to have a passion for technology and be curious about how technology works. You will be able to translate complicated technical terms into language that is understood by all our customers.
Although you will be given extensive training, you must be a self starter in terms of researching and discovering more in-depth information about new products as they arrive on the market.
As this is a customer facing role, you will have a strong customer service background, with some sales experience thrown in for good measure.
It is vital that you are able to build rapport with your customers and make them feel comfortable in asking for assistance from the my[place] team.
