    Information about the Section/Branch
    Procurement Operations Section is part of the Procurement and Risk Management Branch and provides a centralised procurement advice service for the department. The Section includes a Contracts Helpdesk Team and Operations Support Team that maintains on-line procurement guidance and advice for contract managers.
     
    Description of the role
    The Section Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Procurement Operations Section. We are looking for applicants with a strong background in Procurement management and processing, and a sound understanding of contemporary procurement practices. In addition, the successful candidate will ideally have Procurement qualifications commensurate to the position, sound management, analytical, organisational, negotiation and communications skills, and be able to focus on outcomes in ‘time-critical’ processes to achieve Departmental goals. Experience in developing and setting-to-work contract management systems would be advantageous.
     
    Desirable qualifications / Additional Comments about the Position
    Formal qualifications in Procurement and Contract Management are desirable.
     

    An Order of Merit will be established from this process and may be used to fill other vacancies over the next 12 months.
