Southern Steel is the largest privately owned steel distributor in Australia with a network of branches and central processing facilities. Through expansion, Southern Steel has created a position for an experienced sales professional to join their Queensland business, based in Townsville.
Reporting to the QLD Regional Manager you will be responsible for achieving sales targets as well as developing new business opportunities. The position is strategic and will be suited to an individual with a passion to lead and drive successful outcomes.
A largely autonomous position operating within the market place, you will need to have a pragmatic approach with the ability to engage with, develop relationships and identify opportunities with existing and targeted customers.
Some key responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement the growth strategy for the territory
- Manage and meet revenue targets
- Drive and meet new business opportunities
- Participate in marketing and promotional events
- Ensure pricing, equipment and scheduling accuracy
- Manage stock holdings
- Ensuring safe and efficient warehousing practices
- Attend and contribute to sales meetings
Experience in the steel industry would be ideal along with business and people management skills.
