You will be responsible for providing first and second-level technical support to users of Council’s personal computer hardware, peripherals and software, via telephone support through the IM Branch Help Desk service and via on-site support at remote office and District Service Centres. You will participate in rostered day visits to District Service Centres and Offices to provide proactive onsite support services.
You will also install and support new and upgraded versions of personal computer application, operating system and network client software, consistent with Council’s standard operating environment (SOE), install and configure personal computer components and peripherals and provide preliminary analysis of faults in personal computers and peripherals.
Other duties include providing basic systems administration support, based on established standards and procedures, including:
- Creation and management of user profiles;
- Creation and management of network printer queues and configurations; and
- Management of user rights to corporate system applications, network folders, files and printers.
Qualifications required are:
- Degree/Associate Diploma from a recognized University, with relevant experience; OR a combination of extensive experience, expertise and competence; and
- Industry related qualification, such as: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), etc; is highly desirable.
