Commercial Accountant

An opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Commercial Management Accountant, to join the leading provider of industrial and trade related services in the local region. Based in the Toowoomba office, you will become a pivotal member of the Senior Management team, providing support towards growth and development of this multi-site business.

As part of this role, your primary accounting duties will include:

• Working closely with management and the Board to make astute financial decisions and ensure key performance indicators are met;

• Preparing, analysing and delivering budgets as well as management and financial reports;

• Cost analysis, financial and non-financial ratio’s and cash flow forecasts;

• Optimising electronic business and accounting systems;

• Overseeing of payroll, GST, fixed asset register and stock control; and

• Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements through process auditing and reviews (in conjunction with external Accountant).

The crux of this role is to provide solid financial modeling and advice that relates to the best utilisation of labour, plant and equipment. This will then flow into the provision of strategic

direction focusing on profitability and expansion. In addition to your accounting duties, you will direct three major portfolios in the company thus utilising your management and leadership skills. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar position as well as relevant tertiary accountancy qualifications (CA or CPA preferred). You will also possess natural leadership abilities and a desire to be innovative and progressive in your career.
