Trainee HV Systems Technician
Silcar is an organisation of 3,000 people, an asset manager and service provider for technically complex assets. The organisation has significant operations in telecommunications, energy systems, mining, power generation and pulp & paper.
Under the guidance of our highly specialised team of Test Technicians and Engineers you will be developed into a competent test technician through the completion of a 4 yr program of theory and practical based training – including full time university study and trade training. You will be exposed to a wide range of energy industry functions and required to:
- Provide a high level of maintenance services in Client Power Stations, distribution substations and other installations.
- Work in a team environment focussed on total job capability utilising all skills to complete the job
- Actively participate in the quality, environment and OH & S management systems
Applicants must have the following qualifications/attributes to be considered:
- An OP score with a maths/physics combination
- A strong interest in the practical application of technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well under pressure
- A willingness to work at the highest level of safety and environmental standards
- A strong personal drive and ability to work on an individual basis and in a team environment;
- A willingness to travel and work on projects away from home
- Self starters with drive and ambition who want to make a meaningful contribution and add value to Silcar and its customers
