MAINTENANCE MANAGER

BAE Systems’ Military Flight Training business provides basic flight training and screening for the Australian Defence Force’s pilots in addition to air grading for the Republic of Singapore’s Air Force. Based in Tamworth, the highly skilled team provides helicopter, multi engined and ab-initio navigator training. To meet the needs of the team, an experienced Maintenance Manager is now sought.
 
In accepting this challenging role, you’ll assume responsibility for delivering ????? ????? number of serviceable aircraft on a daily basis to meet the needs of all fixed and rotary wing aircrew training projects. In doing so, you’ll lead the aircraft maintenance team and activities within appropriate Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations, manage the maintenance budget and develop strategies for enhancing maintenance activities and asset utilistion. Initially this role will be offered on a fixed term contract basis for a period of six months however permanent employment following this term is likely.
 
In terms of specific activities, you’ll be responsible for:
 
  • Ensuring ????? ????? aircraft are maintained to a high standard of serviceability and are in a ready condition to meet operational requirements

  • Managing, supervising and training staff engaged in aircraft maintenance activities and managing maintenance facility day to day operations
  • Managing budget constraints including costs associated with wages, procurement of spares and sub-contract services
  • Developing and implementing ongoing strategies to maximise the utilisation, lifespan and value of company assets
  •  
  • Understanding the customer requirement for support throughout the life cycle of the product or service in question, by keeping abreast of customer policy and complete knowledge of customer requirements
  • Ensuring ????? ????? are in full compliance with all appropriate Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) orders and regulations
 
As our ideal applicant, you’ll come equipped with Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineering ????? ?????, extensive experience in general aviation maintenance and previous experience liaising with CASA on airworthiness issues. You’ll also have well developed problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills coupled with commercial acumen, a flair for motivating others and strong leadership skills.
