Environmental Officer – Greenhouse & Sustainability
Our client is leading infrastructure provider and has a permanent full time career opportunity located in North Sydney.
Our client’s environmental policy section is responsible for ensuring the best possible environmental outcomes in areas such as sustainability, air quality, heritage conservation, land management and biodiversity.
This role is suitable for a motivated “mid-level” environmental professional who is seeking to secure a broad role with an attractive salary and working conditions. To be shortlisted for this position applicants will need to be able to demonstrate some or all of the following attributes;
A minimum of 5 years experience in the private or public sector is preferred
Broad environmental experience and work experience in sustainability and/or climate change
A good understanding of government procedures and policy formulation
A strong interest in researching cutting edge technologies relating to climate change and sustainability
Superior written and verbal communication skill
The ability and confidence to take on a broad and varied role
The successful applicant’s functions will include (but not be limited to) the following areas;
- Providing input into our client’s climate change and sustainability plans
- Researching new and emerging carbon reduction technologies
- Managing specialist consultants
- Assisting with project management of pilot schemes relating to climate change and sustainability
- Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders
