PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR

Aboriginal Injury Prevention The Sax Institute's aim is to improve health, health services and
programs by increasing the use of research in policy
making. We are an independent not for profit
organisation that provides a bridge between researchers,
policy makers, health services and funding
partners involved in health research. The Sax Institute
has been contracted by the NSW Department of Health
to develop and implement a grant program to support
the implementation and evaluation of demonstration
projects that aim to prevent injury among Aboriginal
people in NSW.
The Project Coordinator will
oversee all aspects of the development of the grant
program including research, design, management,
administration and reporting. You will have
experience in project management, excellent
interpersonal skills and sound knowledge of
research and evaluation methods in the context of
public health, health policy or a related field. In addition
you will have an interest in Aboriginal health and an
awareness and sensitivity regarding cultural
considerations.
Applicants must be available
for an immediate start. The position is 3 days per week
fixed-term until December 2010. The salary package
will be negotiated dependent on the skills and
experience of the successful applicant. The Sax Institute
is a Fringe Benefit Tax Exempt Employer and offers
salary packaging.
