Media Officer

 

·          Respond to incoming media inquires about actions and activities of NSW Health.
·          Work with Area Media Officers to co-ordinate responses to media requests for information.
·          Prepare departmental and draft ministerial media releases.
·          Maintain a comprehensive, statewide overview of developments and events in the NSW health system in order to identify issues that may attract media coverage.
·          Bring ????? ????? attention of the Department Executive and Minister issues that may attract media coverage, provide timely advice on and management of adverse media coverage.
·          In conjunction with the Director, Media & Communications and the Manager, Media & Marketing, advise and coach managers throughout the Department and Area Health Services on management of media issues, in order to provide the public with a balanced view of issues.
·          Liaise with all branches within NSW Health to ensure accurate information is provided to successfully respond to media and Ministerial inquiries.
·          Liaise with Area Media Officers to develop and implement strategies for responding to requests from the media.
·          Organise departmental and assist with ministerial media conferences, and attend  interviews conducted by departmental spokespeople, as required.
·          Be available 24/7 to respond to media issues.
·          Research, write and edit NSW Health publications such as newsletters for external and internal distribution.

Assist in keeping the Media section of the NSW Health website current.
