Victoria Daly Shire Council became an entity on the 1st July 2008 through the amalgamation of 8 Northern Territory community councils covering ????? ????? of 168,000sqkm an area, approximately twice the size of Tasmania. Victoria Daly Shire is just over a year old, so Council is currently recruiting people who share their vision to help develop the brand new organisation.
About the Katherine region Katherine, with a population of over 10,000, is situated 300 km southeast of Darwin in the "Top End", the third largest community in the Northern Territory.

About the Opportunity Victoria Daly Shire Council has a brand new position available for an experienced cross cultural media worker to join their team in Katherine, NT as a
Regional Broadcasting and Media Officer.
Reporting to the Community Services Regional Manager, the primary purpose of this role will be to
drive the development and delivery of a local radio station that provides current up to date information to the community.
As this is a newly created role,
Victoria Daly Shire Council is seeking a driven, confident and professional applicant with appropriate tertiary qualifications in Audio/Media Production, and/or relevant proven experience. You will be experienced in media and radio production techniques, preferably within an Educational or Training environment, as well as with the computers and software applicable to the role.
You will be offered an
attractive salary circa $50,559 - $57,401 negotiable on experience and qualifications
+
9% superannuation. You will also enjoy
