Senior Marketing Manager - Online Trading and Investments

Macquarie’s Direct business provides services to self directed investors seeking investment and wealth protection solutions including Cash management, Managed funds, Alternative investments, Superannuation, Initial Public Offer’s (IPO’s), online trading, mortgages and insurance solutions. The direct business has approximately 140,000 client relationships with a strong desire to grow to over 300,000 clients over the next 5 years. To continue this exciting phase of growth we are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager with expertise in strategic thinking and campaign execution within the direct to consumer segment.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager – Direct you will be responsible for initiation through to implementation of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for Macquarie’s online trading platforms including Macquarie Edge and our range of investment products.  You will also be responsible for managing a small team of marketers.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Marketing strategy

  • identifying appropriate channels/sources of leads to deliver target volume and CPA
  • identifying and developing marketing plans, campaigns and collateral

Marketing Management

  • planning, executing and implementing marketing plans, campaign and promotional activity to grow our customer numbers
  • identifying and developing customer retention campaigns
  • managing agency and other supplier relationships as required
  • testing new channels and new offers
  • driving ongoing efficiency improvements through tracking and analysing outcomes
  • gaining insight from competitor’s campaigns
  • championing the needs of the client in relation to product design and offer
  • deepening client engagement through defined marketing initiatives

Project management

  • managing the marketing scope and outcomes to ensure effective outcomes for the business
  • planning and oversee effort and resources within and outside the marketing team to ensure tasks are delivered on time and within budget
  • being responsible and managing the cost centre budget 

Stakeholder management

  • working with business heads to deliver solutions that are consistent with their business plan objectives
  • Overseeing all reporting and stakeholder engagement including post analysis reports

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications  in marketing or related field;
  • 6 - 8 years marketing experience ideally within financial services with exposure to products within self directed channels;
  • Strong strategic marketing skills and end to end campaign management expertise (i.e. above and below the line media, creative strategy, digital strategy, SEO, SEM, email marketing and direct response as priority);
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills;
  • First class communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence stakeholders at all levels;
  • Strong understanding of business financials and the ability to understand and influence the bottom line;
  • Strong attention to detail and a results focussed and flexible approach.
