Supply Chain Planning Manager

  • The role of Supply Chain Planning Manager exists to formulate and maintain an agreed demand and inventory plan that maximises the delivery to customer expectation and optimises the inventory levels / cash flow nationally.

    There is a high level of direct customer interaction for day to day demand management and specifically for event and promotions management which forms a significant part of the customer's business.

    The position will also be responsible for the centralisation of the planning management function in organisation which has historically been a decentralised model. This major project kicks off in early 2010.

    The role consolidates multiple streams of demand from 780 locations nationally, encompassing full S&OP management including demand, supply (MRP), inventory and purchasing management in conjunction with operations. In addition, a primary consideration in planning is effective contingency planning to mitigate supply interruptions or highly volatile demand during ????? ????? promotions and new product launches that are a part of the customer's business.

    Full responsibility of purchasing (not sourcing) management including the engagement with suppliers, building effective relationships to ensure the efficient supply of materials in line with the forecast. The customer prides themselves on a historically collaborative relationship with it's supply network and therefore expects the engagement of the supply base in a likewise collaborative work-style.

    The Planning Manager will need strong Change orientation as there is significant change to undertake in terms of the planning team and standardisation of process.

    Specific skills required for this position include:
    * Technical and professional knowledge in systems development and management (ERP & Replenishment), ideally Manugistics & JD Edwards.
    * Experience in a planning management position, preferrably in QSR and ideally perishable food , retail, manufacturing ????? ????? related.
    * Strong forecasting, planning, replenishment and inventory management experience.
    * Supply and Purchasing management exposure.
    * Event management and promotional planning experience essential.
    * Degree qualified.
    * Change management, coaching, process re-engineering ????? ????? a strong understanding of business drivers.
    * Advanced relationship and stakeholder management skills.
    * Excellent communication skills, proven planning, problem solving and organising skills.
    * Lean / Six Sigma continuous improvement and problem solving capabilities and experience highly valued.
