Contribute to high profile cases which regulate Australia’s financial market
The Financial Economy Group within ASIC is committed to protecting investors and consumers and increasing market integrity. Within this Group, Deterrence teams are responsible for undertaking major investigations, civil actions and prosecutions to enforce the law and drive behavioural change.
The Financial Services team investigates and litigates within the financial services sector. This may result in banning of individuals or entities, winding up illegal schemes, helping investors recover funds and pursuing criminal action in relation to fraud, theft or misleading conduct.
If you have experience in criminal and civil law, and have a background in or knowledge of credit or financial services compliance, then this could be your opportunity to undertake a variety of high profile matters as you: - Gather and analyse evidence by conducting examinations and obtaining relevant documents to assist in the compilation of briefs of evidence for the conduct of civil and administrative proceedings.
- Compile criminal briefs.
- Manage and advise on requirements for compiling administrative briefs to ASIC delegates, liaising with delegates.
This 12 month, non-ongoing (contract) role is located in Sydney.
