.NET Web Developer
Fairfax Digital is the online and mobile arm of Fairfax and operates commercial web sites for news and information (including smh.com.au, theage.com.au, brisbanetimes.com.au, WAToday and thevine.com.au) as well as transaction sites (including RSVP.com.au, mycareer.com.au and trademe.co.nz).
The online classifieds sites (including mycareer.com.au, mycareer.com.au and drive.com.au) are fully integrated with print classifieds. Fairfax Digital supports the product development and operations of the classifieds sites while the overall responsibility for them, including sales and marketing, resides within the Melbourne and Sydney Publishing divisions.
The purpose of the Regional, Rural and Communities team is to develop and support websites that service in excess of 180 regional and rural publications around Australia and New Zealand. You have an opportunity to join a small, highly active team that is improving and expanding Australia's largest regional and rural network of news and community websites: mycareer.com.au and farmonline.com.au.
This position is located in Richmond, NSW
Essential
· Min 4 years industry experience developing / maintaining medium to large websites.
· Commercial experience with Microsoft development products and platforms including Visual Studio Windows, ASP.NET, SQL Server, IIS,
· Commercial experience with the following:
- VB, C#
- NET 2-3.5, MS SQL 2005
- HTML / CSS / Javascript
· Experience designing and implementing a .NET-based website.
· Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· A thorough knowledge of the Internet and its related technologies, eg. WWW, FTP, etc
· A thorough approach to work, emphasising attention to detail, customer focus and a positive team environment.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision and with a methodical approach.
Desirable
· Experience in TortiseSVN
· Experience in file transformation, XML, XSL
· Experience in IIS6 configuration/management
· A thorough understanding and appreciation of business drivers.
