The Project Manager assists the manager in the development and delivery of a portfolio of capital works programs and projects, in order to achieve the stated outcomes, within the approved budget, timeframe, safety and quality parameters.
This is a hands on management role and key position in the management of Capital Works projects.
Specifically, This role will deal with asset improvements to the Train Simulation Centre for training. Introduction of simulation for new rail car assets will be a prime focus. You will organise the project team to ensure the timely delivery of software for use in simulated training.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in IT / Engineering / Science / Project Management or related management disciplines or equivalent experience. IT Qualifications are preferred.
- Certification at Level 5, with the Australian Institute of Project Management
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in Project Management
- Proven experience working with simulation software configuration is highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary groups of contractors and consultants
- Proven experience in the preparation of performance specifications and tender documents and the management of contracts
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of strategic asset management
- Interest in and understanding of the passenger rail industry and / or rail operations.
