A junior embedded C Software Engineer is required to work within the smart cards industry. This embedded software engineering role will allow you to work with RFID products and allow you to develop your skills in cryptographic and encryption algorithms. Furthermore, training will be provided for unique smart card and POS technologies.

 

The ideal candidate would have around 2-3 years commercial experience with a strong interest in embedded systems. Typical responsiblities will require the software engineer to focus on the development of software used in a number of EFTPOS and smart card terminals. Aside from cutting code, you will be working in the full lifecycle of the SDLC and be involved in software debugging, testing and take part in software/product release.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will have excellent embedded C programming skills with a strong interest in developing software on embedded Linux platforms and prior experience in programming on 32-bit microprocessors (ideally ARM9 cores). In addition, the client is looking for embedded software engineers who have been involved in the whole product lifecycle and capable of working both in a team or individually. Please note that training will be provided for EMV and EFTPOS technologies.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or other relevant engineering degrees
  • 2 - 3 years upwards of programming in C
  • Programming on microprocessors/micro-controllers (ideally ARM/MIPS or PowerPC cores)
  • Developed software that has interfaced with hardware
  • Prior experience in developing software for Linux and other open source platforms
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders from different departments
