The client is a successful software consultancy based in Sydney (client is based 10 minutes from the CBD). With a number of long term contracts that have been recently secured, the client has a requirement for a C++ software engineer to work on advanced client/server based distributed systems. Such applications include working with advanced file systems, large scale distributed systems, design of algorithms and machine learning code.

The software development is done mainly in C++ on Unix/Linux platforms, and prospective software engineers are expected to have an expertise in design of algorithms (although not necessary specific experience in the design of machine learning algorithms will be highly desirable). Aside from just pure software development, other responsibilities extend to working with advanced client/server architectures and network programming.

Technical skills:

Bachelor degree in Engineering ????? ????? Science
C++ programming skills
Strong interest in software development for Linux and UNIX platforms
Algorithm design
Experience with network protocols and client/server architectures
Some understanding of machine learning algorithms will be useful
5+ years of formal software engineering ????? ?????
