Application Support / Test Analyst

Circa 85kpkg commensurate with experience
Key responsibilities:
- Prioritise and respond to all issues with a sense of urgency
- Communicating directly with customers over complex issues
- Problem solving complex issues by collaboration and effective research
- Servicing both internal and external stakeholders through regular communication updates
- Understand all technical aspects of the supporting systems including hardware and network
- Understand in depth the business requirements, rules & logic behind the supporting business systems
- Ensure the systems meet performance and availability SLA expectations
- Pro-actively and pre-emptively identify potential issues and subsequent plan and resolve these issues to provide systems scalability and availability
- Work closely with "hands-on" support team and provide back-fill support as required.
Key requirements
- Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong testing background
- Understanding of both automated and manual testing concepts
- Strong customer service focus
- Technical analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and respond to critical issues in a timely & appropriate manner
- Self-motivated and has initiative to follow-up on issues and can work semi-supervised
- Technical documentation skills
- Understanding of SDLC process
- Professional engineering ????? ????? qualifications an advantage
- Intermediate to advanced Windows Server administration skills both for web application environment (web /database server) and desktop server environment. (IIS, SQL Server 2005, MS Sharepoint a bonus)
- Intermediate relational databases concepts and skills. Working knowledge of SQL language and MS SQL Server
- Intermediate knowledge and skills of general database administration concepts and tasks: creation, backup and restore, tuning etc
