Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst
Position Purpose The role of a
Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst is to provide clear, consistent analysis and data management practices and deliverables (Data mapping and process engineering), in accordance with programmatic SAM services, across large group.
Using industry standard SAM tools, best practices and processes, the role will work closely with Vendor Management and various other departments along with external Agencies and Vendors. The SAM service provided encompasses the entire SAM licensing lifecycle for all Software vendors supplying Government. The SAM Analyst will act as a 'trusted adviser' to Agencies, provide insightful analysis on the software assets, the offerings via which they were procured and be responsible for maintaining key Sam records in a centralised database.
Experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge (Ability to create complex costing models and Data mapping experience)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft software licensing offerings
- Strong analytical skills
- IT Channel knowledge (I.e. Vendor, Distributor, LAR - VAR)
- Business reporting experience
- Ability to set and manage own workload to meet tight deadlines
- Experience extracting / managing data across multiple systems (i.e. SAP, Microsoft, IBM, oracle etc)
- Exposure to SAM framework(s) an advantage
Key Capabilities - Research and analysis qualifications and or relevant experience
- Solid experience managing large data stores or data systems such as
- Microsoft
- SAP
- Oracle
- IBM or Symantec
- Cisco or Citrix
- Data Mapping or migration management experience
- Relevant Computer Industry experience including Vendor License ‘offering’ knowledge (I.e. Microsoft Enterprise Agreements – GOLP)
