RAN Engineer

 

My client is looking for a RAN Engineer who has Ericsson and Nokia experience. This is a contract role that could be a long term opportunity. The RAN Engineer is responsible of fault management, configuration changes, testing and technical support for RAN network. 
  
Key Responsibilities: 
  

• Fault management including end to end troubleshooting, root cause analysis, correction development and implementation  
  
• Liaise with vendors on technical issues  
  
• Review and high level design documents  
  
• Produce detailed design and data fill documents  
  
• Impact assessment of network configuration changes  
  
• Develop and maintain test plans and specifications  
  
• Develop and maintain implementation procedures and tools.  
  
• Testing and implementation of network configuration changes in accordance with detailed designs  
  
• Implementation of software and hardware upgrades in project timeframes  
  
• Review, coordinate and manage installation, commissioning and implementation activities procured from vendors or third parties  
  
• Provide technical support to Operations in performance, capacity and configuration to maintain and optimize RAN performance  
  
• Provide emergency support.  
  

  
To be considered you will need: 
  

• Strong understanding of 2G/3G telecommunications networks  
  
• Strong technical competency in Nokia & Ericsson RAN network elements  
  
• Strong understanding of high level and detailed design principles of telecommunications networks  
  
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills   
  
• Services delivery understanding  
  
• Good documentation skills
