Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

 

My client has over 50 years experience in engineering ????? ?????, network design, Implementation, consulting, and project solutions delivery. It is Australasia’s leading provider of customized telecommunications and broadcast networks, converged solutions, and network services.   
   
As the Senior Estimator you will be accountable for the accurate and timely development of commercial estimates/proposals for major works in excess of $200,000. You will need to research and maintain up to date market intelligence on the availability and cost of materials and labour associated with bids on telecommunications projects.    
   
You will need to have the following experience and skills to per form the Senior Estimator role:   

• More than 5 years experience in a senior estimating role encompassing civil construction and/or electrical disciplines, within a Telecommunications Service Provider  
  
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline is essential  
  
• Project Management accreditation is desirable  
  
• A demonstrable track record in successfully managing tender proposals (values ranging between $200k to $5 million) in the Telecommunications and/or other Infrastructure markets in Australia.  
  
• Market intelligence on the availability and cost of materials and labour associated with the Australia and New Zealand Telecommunications Industry is essential. Additional experience with other Asia pacific regions would be ideal.  
  
• A demonstrable understanding of commercial risk/reward and competitive pricing issues.  
  
• A demonstrable understanding of core risk management issues covering ????? ????? (delivery, safety, environmental) and commercial contracting.  
  
• Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to maintain open communication channels with internal/external customers, staff and contractors. Ability to establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with both clients and contractors.  
  
• Advanced Excel Skills (Vlookup, Pivot table, Macros – for data modelling)  
  
• Intermediate to advised skills with other MS Office tools for tender document production
