Head of Programme Office

 



Fairfax Digital is the online and mobile arm of Fairfax and operates commercial web sites for news and information (including smh.com.au, theage.com.au, brisbanetimes.com.au, WAToday and thevine.com.au) as well as transaction sites (including RSVP.com.au, mycareer.com.au and trademe.co.nz).

The three revenue generating divisions, Classifieds, Media and Transactions, and the infrastructure division require management of their program of work all the way to delivery. The Program Office (PMO) will take responsibility for the delivery management following principles of doing it right the first time and optimising resources across the whole P&T division. The department needs to be set up, sold to internal stakeholders, resourced and organised with appropriate processes.

To be considered and successful in this position you will have 10+ years in Project Management and 7+ years in Program Management dovetailed with extensive change management experience.  A proven history of process management and innovation is also essential.  Is comfort with the unknown and paradox and awareness of emerging technology and digital practices.

In this role you will: 

  • Set up the Program office and write the scope and mission of PMO
  • ntroduce, gather, revise and negotiate vendor contracts and  manage the deliverables
  • Oversee the product development process and execute change management every time there is a process change
  • Revise current product development processes and make necessary recommendations and changes
  • Staff the Program Office with appropriate project management resources
  • Plan and supervise slates of work across all division
  • Ensure all stakeholders are across the programme of work and the timeframes
  • Control budget for programme and individual projects
  • Produce risk management plan for all projects
  • Promote and encourage a culture where a variety of solutions are considered for a problem and encourage experimentation within acceptable limits
  • All facets of Team Leadership – Coach, mentor and motivate. Foster career development and succession plans
  •  You possess a University degree in Business or similar
