Checkpoint Security Engineer
- Initial 3 month contract + extensions or permanent

Our client, a global Telecoms organisation, is looking for a Network Security Engineer to assist in the operational support of network security infrastructure such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Authentication systems, VPNs, remote access and secure mobile networks.
You will also be involved in a number of exciting projects as well as the operational support and maintenance of the security products across the network.
Key areas of the role:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support/troubleshooting of Data Network Security.
- Maintain Network Security devices such as Firewalls, VPN devices, Security log analysers, backups, Authentication systems, Remote VPN users.
- Security and Patch Management of Security devices
- Provide service level and performance reports to management
Upgrade Software and Hardware to network security devices
Essential Technical Skills
- Check Point NG/NGX VSX Provider-1 Firewalls (R55 and R61 release)
- Strong TCP/IP networking understanding
- Sound knowledge of Linux, Solaris and IPSO operating systems, firewall debugging tools
Desirable
Crossbeam XOS firewall knowledge
Remedy based trouble ticketing and change management tools
MS Visio
Any certifications (Checkpoint, Crossbeam, CISSP etc.) will be considered but not mandatory as long you can demonstrate knowledge at the interview
