Senior Solution Designer €“ SAS & Cognos Analytics and Reporting

Summary:
This new role is created to drive detailed solution and architectural design for Risk with initial focus being Group Credit risk.
Initially the role will define the solution architecture and detailed solution design for the Enterprise Credit Risk Reporting Project with other similar projects to follow.
The person will be expected to have significant experience in enterprise-scale data intensive projects in more than one organisation and technology space and have a strong background in internal or external consulting.

Key Deliverables:
• Conceptual and Detailed solution design for Credit Risk projects, including Data Modelling, Data Management, Analytics, Reporting, Data Mart & Data Warehouse & Analytics Applications, Integration, & Infrastructure.
• Solution Transition Strategy & Approach and detailed transition plans to take the solution design through its detailed design, build and deployment phases.
• Core contributor to business case development to support the project through funding gateways.
• Lead design and development including Proof-of-Concept design/build and initial build estimation and build planning including transition to Development Leads for multiple releases.
• BI Transformation Solution that aligns with the Business Requirements and vendor best practice.
• Alignment of solution design to the Enterprise directions outlined by the Enterprise Architecture team and Information Design.


Major Accountabilities:
• Effectively communicates as an SME to senior business and technical groups within the Bank with a strong emphasis on internal consulting skills.
• Understands business and regulatory requirements to determine an overall solution design that delivers to the requirements
• Develops a Solution Design that complies to Enterprise design policies and guidelines €“ interact effectively with Enterprise groups in establishing and applying enterprise policies and standards
• Contributes leading practice in data modelling and data management, risk analytics and reporting, development and custody of a solution design through all its phases
• Experience in multiple SDLC's and ability to apply delivery disciplines in a thoughtful and pragmatic manner
• Ability to work effectively with project team members such as Enterprise Domain Architect, Data Architect, technical analysts and business analysts
• Provides the most cost effective IT solutions and associated infrastructure to meet business requirements
• Provides costing estimates for the end-to-end delivery of IT / business solutions in partnership with the project team and Enterprise groups.
• Competency with SAS, Cognos and Informatica design and development including ETL, analytics and reporting
• Ability to provide Stakeholders with clear and concise transformations that include both the functionality the will be achieved and functionality that will not be available.

Demonstrated Experience in:
• Defining complex architectural designs for multiplatform environments
• Cognos , Enterprise SAS and Informatica technologies
• Enterprise scale data warehousing environments
• Engagement and negotiation with enterprise groups around enterprise direction , polices and standards
• Banking and Finance Industry preferred
• Experience in Risk domain preferred
• Experience in consulting and facilitating business discussions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated project delivery in solution design and development roles
