Blancmange is a popular 50 seat restaurant specialising in contemporary French & European "bistro" dishes, with a splash of Anglo influences for good measure. The menu is produce driven and seasonal, the food understated and grounded, drawing on old school dishes and classic combinations.
We have been trading for just over 3 years, winning the Sydney Eats "Bent Fork" award for best new restaurant in 2008, and are currently sitting on 14 out of 20 in the SMH Good Food Guide 2010.
Head Chef Nigel Douglas, and second chef Brian Martinez, head up the kitchen and between them have worked in many of Sydney’s best restaurants - Aria, Bistro Ortolan, Three Weeds to name a few. They joined Blancmange in December 2008 and under their guidance the restaurant has gone from strength to strength.
The opportunity exists for a talented, enthusiastic, skilled & ambitious Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team. Working with two passionate and experienced professionals in a hands-on and encouraging environment this is a great opportunity to develop your skill base and further your career as a Chef.
You will be an active, important and integral part of the team and involved in all areas of the kitchen and service. In this, you will be asked for your input and ideas.
We are located opposite at , Corner of West & Station Streets, Petersham (opposite ).
Transport. We are 50m from road for bus services to and from the City and further west. We are also 100m from Lewisham train station.
