Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) –
Interventional Services
Temporary Full- time Position (Mon – Fri)
Maternity Relief for a period of 12 Months with possible
extension

Registered Nurses for the above position.
Interventional Services incorporates Interventional Cardiology
(EPS and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory), Interventional Radiology,
Procedure Suite (Endoscopy) and Day Procedure Centre.
Interventional Services is an integrated model which has at its
centre the holistic care of our patients. In addition,
Interventional Services provide a range of state of the art
Interventional procedures to Day Only and Day of Surgery
patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative registered
nurse with advanced clinical skills. The successful applicant will
be self-directed and will have a progressive approach to new ideas.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide a supportive environment
facilitation staff development, education and growth. The CNE will
be responsible for coordinating and facilitating clinical
education, provide clinical support and preceptorship to nursing
staff within the department. The position will be supported by
experienced CNS staff in each area.
Essential qualifications:
- Current registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of
NSW
- Relevant post registration specialist qualification in one
of the following (Perioperative/Anaesthetics/Recovery/Critical
Care/Cardiothoracic nursing).

multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in
specialty
- Demonstrated experience within a preceptorship role
- Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional
development
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of educational
programs/initiatives
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles
- Demonstrated participation in clinical policy and procedure
development
- Membership of relevant professional/specialty group
- Demonstrated clinical teaching ability
A commitment to commence a Clinical Teaching Course within 6
months of commencing in the role
- Immunisation history complies with NSW Health Policy
Directive 2007_006.
Desirable criteria:
- Hold or working towards relevant tertiary education
qualification
- Computer literacy
- Twelve months experience as CNS in relevant specialty
