Study to become an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist
Graduate Certificate in Vision Impairment (Orientation and Mobility)
Sydney based course (involving interstate placements)

Vision Australia is seeking six outstanding professionals
wishing to study (and subsequently work) as O&M Specialists. Students should have completed a prerequisite undergraduate
degree in Health Sciences, Exercise Science (Human Movement), Education, Psychology, Disability Studies, or other
related field. Students selected for the course will demonstrate a high level of commitment, along with the capacity to complete
the program of study. Successful completion of the program would then position you for a career as an O&M Specialist
within Vision Australia.
Students accepted onto the 2010 course will receive a bursary
payment of $12,500 over the duration of the course (and will not be required to pay the course fee of $10,OOO. In return for
the fee exemption and bursary payment, successful students who are offered employment must commit to working as a
full-time O&M Specialist in a Vision Australia team in NSW/ACT or QLD for a min. period of three years (until at
least late 2013). Four positions will be avail. in NSW/ACT, & two positions in QLD. Applicants should note that the NSW
positions are likely to be based in regional centres.
In addition to the bursary placements at Vision Australia, there
is also the opportunity for two fee paying students to complete the course. The course fee for 2010 is $10 000, payable in full
on commencement of the course.
