    The Sisters who run this beautiful Home in Randwick feel so priviledged to be living with the elderly residents, blessed with the necessary resources and staff to truly care for them in the twilight of their years. The Sisters mission is to provide a real home environment with love and respect and the DON plays an integral role in fostering ????? ????? the staff.

    This facility has 32 high dependency (Nursing Home), 20 low dependence (Hostel), 16 (Independent Living), 10 (Priests Villa) and 10 (Sisters Villa).

    As the DON you would be involved in the following duties;

    • Working in partnership with the Sisters contributing to all aspects of the day to day management of the facility
    • Ensuring ????? ????? clinical care through continuing education for all staff
    • Establishing and monitoring ????? ????? in all the Home's activities and undertakings
    • Ensuring ????? ????? Improvement and compliance with all Govt regulations in order to meet Accreditation Standards
    • Coordinating medical, nursing and other health services of the Home
    • Maintains a legislative compliant medical record system
    • Overseeing the development of Care Plans and documentation to meet professional standards, govt regulations and funding requirements
    • Interviews new Nursing Staff
    • Responsible for on-going performance management of staff
    • Initiates regular staff meetings and establishes appropriate mechanisms for consultation with staff, Residents and relatives
    • Maintains good standards of equipment by ensuring ????? ?????, repair and replacement
    • Ensures and maintains adequate stocks of supplies
    • Supports and encourages the work of the Diversional Therapists and Physiotherapist
    • Observes and complies with OH&S and EEO legislation
    • Other duties as assigned

    Essential Criteria;

    1. Registered General Nurse with current practising certificate
    2. Experienced as a DON, Deputy DON or Nurse Unit Coordinator
    3. Experience in Aged Care nursing and operational management
    4. Awareness of current clinical practices in Aged Care
    5. Sound and thorough knowledge of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
    6. Sound and thorough knowledge of the Aged Care Act
    7. Evidence of caring & effective people handling skills
    8. Leadership
    9. Preparedness to respect and uphold the philosophy & Christian ethos of the Home
    10. Sound computer skills
