Senior Financial Planner - Sydney

ING Australia Financial Planning is seeking a number of experienced Financial Planners to join their rapidly growing Sydney office. The key function of this role is to source new business while maintaining relationships with existing clients and referral sources.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

Provide Financial Advice to clients:  This includes assessing client needs and formulate an effective financial strategy and risk management strategy; formulate advice documents in accordance with client needs; work closely with Paraplanners to formulate a strategy; and work within our compliance framework.

Sales and Business development: Plan a strategy to achieve  targets; manage ongoing client relationships in accordance with the INGFP value proposition; recruit new clients as appropriate; and provide regular reports on sales, prospects and marketing activities to the National Sales Manager. ING Financial Planning’s career path includes the opportunity to become self employed over the medium term and business/sales development skills are mandatory for success in this career stream.

Compliance and Regulation: Ensure your technical knowledge is maintained and expanded.  This is achieved through attending seminars/industry functions and continued formal education and training.

For this role we are ideally looking for people with:

  • RG 146 Compliant to provide personal advice at an equivalent level to that required of a representative of the ING Financial Planning licence in all product groups and advice areas
  • Relevant Industry education ADFS (CFP or working towards CFP preferred)
  • RG146 competencies as required by FSR and the AFSL
  • Proven track record in revenue generation
  • Strong understanding of industry services
  • Business Degree (Commerce, Economics, Business or related) preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent numeracy skills
