Senior Security Adviser – Canberra Based

  • It’s no secret that ASIO is here to protect Australia from terrorism and espionage. Intelligence gathering ????? ????? focus. Working within a complex security environment, you’ll soon discover there is something more to this role.

    As a key member of ASIO’s T4 Directorate you’ll lead a small team of security advisers in the conduct of protective security risk reviews and the provision of protective security advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
     
    You will be responsible for the delivery of high value written and verbal briefs to government agencies and other major national security stakeholders within the private sector, along with the establishment and development of external relationships integral to the business of the Directorate.
     
    You will need to have a strategic outlook, and keen focus on quality, practicality and timeliness. You will also need an ability to shape policies and standards, and to develop staff and protective security capabilities in line with the evolving security environment. Highly developed analytical and communication skills, strong representational abilities, coupled with security risk management experience complete the picture.
     
    You may be required to work independently, or as part of a team, in conducting risk reviews or delivering ????? ????? a particularly complex or sensitive nature. This is likely to require occasional interstate travel.
     
    A tertiary qualification in security/risk management and/or extensive government/industry experience in the provision of high level security advice would be highly desirable.
