General Manager, Clinical Education and Training Institute
 
Sydney, Full-time, Term Appointment, Job Reference HES/2009/32.  An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant for a contract period up to 5 years, with annual performance reviews.
 
The Clinical Education and Training Institute is a new agency being established to develop, co-ordinate and support clinical education and training for the NSW Health Service workforce. Establishing the Institute is a key part of Caring ????? ?????: The Health Action Plan for NSW developed in response to the Final Report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into Acute Care Services in NSW Public Hospitals. The Institute will be a Statutory Health Corporation (under the Health Services Act 1997) with the primary purpose of developing, co-ordinating and supporting clinical education and training for the NSW Health Service workforce.
 
The General Manager will be a senior executive member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the development of inter-professional and innovative training programs for medical, nursing and allied health professionals and clinical support staff utilising a range of providers and delivery mediums. These programs will support team-based patient care and enhance workforce skills and flexibility within the public health system.
 
Reporting to a Chief Executive, the General Manager is accountable for the effective and efficient operational management of the Institute in line with organisational objectives, policies, procedures and strategic direction.  The General Manager is also responsible for the conduct of the Regional Entity functions for NSW under the National Partnership Agreement relating to health workforce reform and clinical training.
