The Anglo-Australian Observatory seeks a Fibre Optics Specialist to work in close collaboration with scientists and optical and mechanical engineers to develop and realise new instruments and concepts. The Fibre Optics Specialist will be
responsible for all fibre optic related aspects of astronomical instruments, from initial concept through final acceptance
testing and commissioning.
Optical Engineer
$76,448-$92,271 per annum + 15.4% super
The Anglo-Australian Observatory seeks an Optical Engineer to work in close collaboration with optical designers and mechanical engineers to refine optical system designs by
examining options and performing design tradeoffs based on manufacturability and performance. The Optical Engineer will
be responsible for moving optical designs into procurement, fabrication, testing, assembly, integration and commissioning.
Employment based in Eastwood NSW. Some overseas travel expected.
Appointment is for 3 years. Renewed appointment subject to funding and performance.
