Biomechanical Engineer

Due to rapid expansion, an opportunity has been created for a biomedical engineer or mechanical engineer with biomechanical experience to work for a successful, publicly listed medical device company with a 16 year history.

You would form part of a dedicated Research and Development team developing orthopaedic implants for trauma and joint arthroplasty.

Reporting to the R&D Director you will be responsible for a range of projects spanning the evaluation of OEM devices being added to our product portfolio through to developing new implantable devices and instruments from concept to fully approved marketable products.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering

  • At least 2 years experience in orthopaedic implant design; with a strong background in total knee systems.

  • 3D CAD experience (preferably SolidWorks)

  • Thorough knowledge of International and Australian Medical Device standards and regulations; particularly ISO 13485

  • Thorough understanding of the testing, verifi cation and validation requirements, and processes, for orthopaedic implants.

You should:

  • Be able to work to deadlines

  • Like interacting with a small team

  • Have a desire to improve the outcomes for patients undergoing life changing orthopaedic procedures.

This will be a challenging role for the right candidate, offering ????? ????? to expand into more senior roles as the company continues to develop.
