This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Health Surveyor to join a professional team within a Local Government Environment. In this autonomous role you will ensure the highest professional standards of environmental health advice and technical expertise are provided to internal and external customers.

Your responsibilities will include:  

• Developing, implementing and reporting on specific environment environmental health management programs, projects and development strategies  
  
• Developing guidelines, manuals, policies, practice notes, internal processes to be used by regulatory health services staff  
  
• Advising developers, environment consultants, architects, engineers, council staff and the community on environmental requirements  
  
• Managing regulatory inspections and other environmental health investigations effectively and ensure compliance with council and other statutory requirements  
  

  
You will have:   

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health  
  
• 10 years experience in the environmental field  
  
• Experience in dealing with complex issues in a local government environment  
  
• Knowledge and experience in the application of Public and Environmental Health Legislation and relevant sections of the Local Government Act 1993 and associated Regulations  
  
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with legal proceedings for environmental and public health matters
