My valued client is a large Civil Engineering Company that has been around for a quarter of a century and employs around 700 people. Due to growth new roles are now available in NEWCASTLE area.
The company’s services include Bulk Earthworks; Drainage; Precast & Insitu Concrete; Design & Construction; Major Road/Freeway Works; Licensed Asbestos Removal; Road Pavement Construction.
This position is for someone who is seeking a long term career and stability in a permanent role with this established and growing organisation.
Reporting to the OHS Advisor your job is to provide OH&S support to all operations across the company to ensure compliance in all aspects of OH&S in accordance with the company’s and client’s needs and policies. You will be required to work closely with Operations and Management staff to develop procedures and standards for OHS, and assisting the OHS Advisor in implementation, reviewing and ongoing monitoring of OHS systems in the company.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing tenders during Estimation stages
- Preparation of Project Safety Management Plans conforming to company’s policies
- Advising Managers in meeting legal obligations, system compliance and client requirements
- Monitoring compliance with OH&S Management System
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards Certification - AS 4801
- Assisting in project start up, risk assessment and review
- Conduct incident investigations and writing recommendations
- Conducting site inspections and audits
- Actively encourage and strive towards having a safe work environment
Experience in a similar role essential (Civil Engineering industry background preferred).
