ING Australia is seeking a Business Development Officer to join their Distribution Division. The key function of this role is to provide sales and administration support to Business Development Managers and other team members. This position would suit someone looking for the next step up with a solid background in sales support within the Financial Services or Financial Planning arena.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
• Client service & relationship building with Advisers
• Maintain general knowledge of assigned ‘strategic’ accounts
• Training of key adviser support staff on ING products and processes
• Carry out follow-up work with advisers on any BDM directed sales/product activity
• Technical sales support & administration support as well as ad hoc office duties
• Manage and/or compile branch product newsletters/communications to advisers
• Event Management - adviser functions and conferences
• Ensure supply of appropriate sales materials and sales aids
For this role, we are ideally looking for someone:
• Ideally you will have experience working in a sales support role with strong experience with financial markets products/industry (Superannuation / Risk / Funds Management)
• Good understanding / experience of Adviser business practices and relationships
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Ability to work within a fast paced sales team environment
• Strong business acumen and mature attitude
• RG146 (DFP 1-4) Compliant or working towards
• Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
